David I. Barras, MD.
Founder of Valley ENT
Dr. Barras is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary High School, a cum laude graduate of Brandeis University and received his medical training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Barras is a past president of the Nesbitt Hospital past president of the Surgical Specialty Center, Forty Fort, PA. Dr. Barras is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and sees patients of all ages, ranging from newborns to geriatric. He treats a wide range of ear, nose and throat disorders including ear infections, hearing loss, vertigo and dizziness, nasal and sinus disorders, swallowing, voice disorders and throat problems, and allergy. Dr. Barras also has expertise in medical-legal evaluation of hearing loss.
Dean M. Clerico, MD.
Nasal and Sinus Specialist
Dr. Clerico is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. He attended the New Jersey Medical School, where he also did his residency in Otolaryngology. He completed fellowship training in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Valley ENT, Dr. Clerico served as Assistant Professor and faculty member in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has presented original research at numerous national and international meetings and has published many articles and chapters in the medical literature. He has been recognized for his excellence by being repeatedly selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America.” Dr. Clerico is board certified in Otolaryngology and specializes in the treatment of Sinus Disorders.

Valley ENT, Practice Administrator
Colleen is a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She received an Associate Degree in Administration at Luzerne County Community College. Colleen has been office manager at Valley ENT for over 35 years.
Kari Pietralczyk
Au.D, CCC-A
Dr. Pietralczyk is a graduate of Mid Valley Secondary Center, Marywood University and Southern Connecticut State University. She earned a Doctor of Audiology Degree from the University of Florida in 2010. Dr. Pietralczyk holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, a Pennsylvania State License in Audiology and a Certificate of Registration for Hearing Aid Fitting and Dispensing from the PA Dept. of Health. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology and the PA Academy of Audiology.
Kaitlyn J. Froese
Au.D, CCC-A
Dr. Kait Froese is a graduate of North Pocono High School, and Marywood University where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Arizona in 2021 and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Froese performs audiometric and vestibular testing, hearing aid evaluations, and dispenses and fits hearing instruments under Best-Practice protocol.
Renae Keiper
PAC
Renae Keiper, PAC, is a West Scranton High School graduate and was recognized as a top academic achieving student in her class. She then attended Marywood University on an IHM scholarship awarded for academic excellence. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She was inducted into the Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society upon graduation. She later returned to Marywood University’s Physician Assistant program, where she earned a master’s degree and was awarded for clinical excellence. Renae has always been interested in Ear, Nose, and Throat, having completed an independent study in Head and Neck anatomy in her undergraduate education and an elective rotation in Otolaryngology during Physician Assistant clinical rotations. She was previously employed with Geisinger as a Physician Assistant in Otolaryngology for five years and was recognized as one of Geisinger’s 2022 top patient experience clinicians.
Maria Piczon
PAC
Maria Piczon, PA-C, is a graduate of Marywood University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 2020 and a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2021. She has been working in healthcare for over 14 years. Over the years, she has gained experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. She recently joined Valley ENT and looks forward to starting a career in Otolaryngology and serving the community.
Cynthia Timimski
LPN, Allergy Nurse
Cynthia is a graduate of Wyoming Area High School and attended College Miseracordia. She graduated from Wilkes-Barre Area Vo-Tech. She has gained her nursing experience from her employment at The Wyoming Valley Health Care System as well physician’s offices.
Lisa M. Mierzwa
LPN, Nurse
Lisa graduated from John S Fine High School. She attended Luzerne County Community College and received a degree in Practical Nursing from Wilkes-Barre Area Vo-Tech. Lisa is a CPR instructor for the Red Cross.

Tracey is a graduate of West Side Tech in Pringle. She has worked at Valley Ent for over 24 years.
Joann Noll
RN, Allergy Nurse
Joann is a graduate of Coughlin High School. She received her RN degree from Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She has worked as an allergy nurse at Valley ENT for over 5 years.

Receptionist
June is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. She has worked as a receptionist at Valley ENT for over eleven years.
